Class Descriptions

Introduction  Introduces the basic yoga asanas (the physical postures of yoga), meditation and deep relaxations techniques.

 

 

Level 1/2  Includes basic yoga asanas, meditation and breathing techniques. Includes the introduction to simple/modified inversions and backbends.

 

Level 2
  Includes basic yoga asanas, meditation and breathing techniques. This class introduces inversions and backbends as well as incorporating some longer holdings mixed with quicker transitions.

 

Level 2/3
  In addition to basic yoga postures, pranayama and meditation we practice inversions, arm balances, backbends, and, in general, more challenging poses; sometimes at a faster pace, while other classes we hold more challenging poses for longer periods of time. Basic alignment and previous yoga experience suggested. We also chant an opening invocation in this class.

 

 


Restorative Yoga  Is a yoga class that is designed to deeply relax and rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit. Practitioners rest into props so it is considered active relaxation.  It is for everybody- No experience is necessary. Classes are based off of the teachings of Judith Lasater, PH.D., P.T. and Timothy McCall, M.D. It is pretty blissful I must say…$16 a class

 

Private Yoga Classes
  Are available for those who want help designing a home practice for themselves or have specific needs that are not met in a regular class. $60/hour

Power Yoga
  This upbeat and intense class emphasizes flexibility and core strength. While still nurturing your desire for self-discipline there is a competent of sensitivity that all yoga embodies. A rigorous full body work-out for mental stability and concentration balance and healing.

 

 Pilates Mat Exercises  Many consider this as being the core of Joseph Pilates’ work. It is a series of exercises performed in a specific sequence, which was designed to help individuals strengthen and stretch their bodies. Other benefits include regained correct body movement, improved posture and increased mind-body awareness along with providing balance, flexibility, and focus on the powerhouse (abdominals and lower back). This series of exercises can be modified and performed by most anyone. Please bring a mat, water and small towel. Clothing should be comfortable, without zippers or buttons, and optional bare feet.

 

 


 

Meditation  is a centering and relaxation technique where you can learn to approach stressful situations with fresh insight and a clear mind. Meditation creates a feeling of peace and mental focus where we gain a sense or our deeper self. The benefits of meditation can include stress reduction, relief from anxiety and depression, stronger determination, vitality and a more open and compassionate heart.Meditation can be done sitting in a chair or on the floor or anywhere that is comfortable. The only true requirement is a personal desire to be mentally alive and a willingness to take the time for yourself. 



Thai Yoga Massage  is an ancient and sacred healing modality that incorporates rhythmic motion, energy line work, gentle stretching and assisted yoga postures. Offered in private sessions and workshops.



Reiki
  simple, safe and natural method of spiritual healing that everyone can use for relaxation and to help reduce stress and illness.

 


Reiki Shares
  free monthly gatherings for those who would like to receive a 15-minute session given by a reiki practitioner or reiki master.  Adults and children are welcome.

 
Reiki I and II Certification

 Reiki I  Self-healing and the first attunement, Japanese Reiki techniques, hand positions and meditation, healing by a Reiki Master. Manual included with personalized instruction and follow up.

Reiki II  Learn how to heal others, distance healing, working with Reiki spirit guides, how to scan the body for information, increasing your intuition!
